Vintage submariner query...

Evening all,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I've been given my uncles old watch which, I believe, is an old submariner from 60's/70's. I've also got the original Rolex paperwork and a few servicing receipts from a dealer in London. But when I've gone to have a look at the serial/model numbers to accurately date it there is nothing between the lugs??? So it's got me a bit puzzled a) whether it's fake or not and b) how old it is. I've no problems whether it is or not as he did inhabit some shades parts of the world and he was a deep sea diver working in the oil industry.

It needs a service (seems to run fast) as it hasn't been done in ages plus it needs a new crystal and a bit of fettling, it's just whether I'll get it back if it's a fake.

Here's a few pics for info...

Couple more pics added

Thanks in advance,
Dave
