Platinum Daytona vs Patek 5170G

My final, FINAL grail is one of the two, and they both have things going for them:

Platona: beautiful dial that the wife loves, and this one we would get through a trusted seller. IMO the ultimate Daytona. But no exhibition back.

5170: I realize they are in high production, is being heavily advertised, and one needs to buy one at a very good price to maintain value. I have seen them circa 60K in WG. I'd want WG or Platinum (J, right?). A small downside is that it is manual with 72 hr reserve, but I don't mind winding. Exhibition back. I never owned a Patek before.

I have grown to love my WG meteorite dial daytona, and may or may not trade it in. Same with Hulk. Depends on various financials.

Overall, I think with the Platona bracelet you get a lot of platinum for your money. OTOH, with 5170 you get to admire the movement every day.

Welcome any thoughts. I do enjoy using the chronograph buttons to time everything from my cat playing to how late my doctor is running (sorry, Tom )

If I get it, it will be after we move to San Diego County in a few months. So I have time to study both watches. It will be my forever watch.
