Count Down Bezel

I've used the search feature for this and was not able to find anything on what I am about to say, so here goes.

I am quite sure that the vast majority of owners of the SUB as well as the DSSD, do not use their Rolexes for diving but on many occasions need to know how much time remains on their parking meters or how much longer their cake or roast needs to remain in the oven. I fully realize that the existing bezel configuration allows for such use but is not as convenient as a count down bezel.

However Rolex has not made available a count down model or bezel option.

Why is that? Is it a case of sexy trumping practicality or something else?
