Waterfall Shot

This is a shot I took recently of beautiful Snoqualmie Falls, in Washington. In addition to being a lovely area, this site is interesting due to the 108 year old power plant at the top of the falls (the smaller structure right in the center of the photo) that uses water falling 270' to generate power. The turbines lie 270' below the surface, and the cavern was carved out of basalt, quite a feat for the technology of over a century ago.

The power plant is still active.
