Icon8 Were RSC (SG) being cautious or were they being paranoid?

I will just cut to the chase on this incident.

I went to RSC (Singapore) to have my aftermarket insert changed and the counter lady spotted a small dent (at the “16” marker) on the bezel (pictures below). She took the watch to their watchmaker and came back to inform that I will need to have the whole bezel changed in order to change to a new insert due to the small dent. I was quoted around USD370 in all!

Disgusted, I took the watch to my watchmaker with a genuine insert and he snapped it in in less than 10 mins. He called RSC’s stand bulls**t and overly paranoid ! What made this matter worse was I had the watch verified at RSC SG few weeks ago and it cost me USD80 yet they failed to pick this up being an aftermarket insert !! Double whammy !!!

So…. Were RSC (SG) being cautious or were they being paranoid? Does it warrant such measure as to have the whole bezel changed? Does anyone still have faith in RSC? Or was it RSC SG that has problem?
