Looking for opinions

TFR,
I am interested in a Rolex GMT Rootbeer. I own a Sub that I was planning to trade in and pay the difference for a nice newer GMT II. But recently I have seen a number of mid 80s GMTs that are within range of buying without the trade so I can have both. Of course that will cost me a few thousand more, but have 2 vs 1 in the end.
What do you think, one newer GMT II or two watches newer Sub and 1980s GMT. I am more tipping towards the 1980s GMT and keeping my Sub as well. But I don't know enough about the older models to know if this is a good move or bad move and get with newer GMT and trade in current Sub. My current Sub is roughly a 2008 model, so not that old for a Rolex for sure.

Any thoughts surely appreciated.

Mark
