Bucherer 1950's chronograph

Hey everyone, new to the forums and just wanted to ask your opinions on a watch I recently picked up. Also have a few amateur questions.

Okay, so I picked it up for 590 without knowing anything about it. Probably not a good idea, but I liked the appearance. The second hand won't reset to zero and the bottom pusher is in poor, tight condition overall. The crown won't pull out, and the watch winds with the crown tight to the case. I was just wondering if the crown was meant to stay in place with these sorts of models. It's a Landeron 248 movement.
Many thanks for the help guys!
