Oysterquartz - chance encounter

I dropped by my AD in San Antonio this afternoon for a fresh battery and case seal. Another client was paying his bill and the owner stepped with me to another counter. I handed him my 17013 and told him what I needed. He got a mildly astonished look on his face and said - you won't believe this, but the gentleman at the other counter there just got my last battery for his OysterQuartz! He was wearing a nice 17014 white dial with black Roman markers. The customer and I looked at each other and I said it was probably a very rare occurrence these days to have 2 OQ's in the same store at the same time for battery replacement. I probably average seeing less than one per year in the wild.

I'll have to wait a couple of days until my AD gets a few fresh batteries in for stock, as he doesn't let them sit for too long. This one got me over 5 full years after my watch's only factory service visit in 31 years of ownership.
