First Rolex - Thanks Everyone

I just bought my first Rolex and wanted to thank everyone here as I gained so much information which really helped me.

Having just hit my 40's I wanted to buy something special to be a personal companion in life and a Rolex felt like the perfect choice.

I did lots of research initially looking at preowned but decided that as this was going to be a special purchase that I would buy new from my local AD. I felt that it would be worth the extra cost to be the first owner and have all the paperwork in my name. The watch is going to be my daily watch for years to come and I wanted it to be special.

To me when I thought of a Rolex it was the classic Black & Stainless Submariner Date that came to mind. Then I saw the 116613lb version on the Rolex website and knew it was the one for me...

When I went to buy the watch my AD was fantastic and I got the whole champagne service which made it a very special day. I was also able to look at and try on other Rolex watches just to make sure it was the right choice for me before committing.

So I am delighted with my watch pictures attached! What I didn't expect is how great my watch makes me feel every day.

The only slight problem is that Mrs Ocean has taken such a strong liking to my watch and Rolex as a brand that I might be back at my AD before long...
