FS: 1972 Rolex Submariner Ref 5512 / All Original / Recent Service

For Sale: Excellent condition 1972 Vintage Rolex Submariner Ref 5512. This beautiful 5512 was acquired from the original owner who purchased it brand new in the early 70’s. Comes with original box and “My Oyster” booklet.

Case: 100% original, excellent condition, previously polished, but not overly. Show signs of normal wear. Crown lugs look great and not over polished. Case back is marked 5513 I. 72 as it came originally came from Rolex. Original crown has a ding on it but is cosmetic only, still fully functional and passed pressure test. Watch crown functions flawlessly.

Dial: Original 4 liner in excellent condition. No visible blemishes with nice even creamy patina markers and matching original patina hands.

Crystal: Original dome crystal with some creases. Had been polished during recent service and looks good. Did pass pressure test after polish and service. You could keep it as is or have a service crystal installed.

Bezel: Original fat font bezel with NOS replacement pearl installed during recent service and does not glow. Shows a few minor signs of wear for its age.

Bracelet: Original, 9315 folded link bracelet, as it came from Rolex, with all 12 links. Dive extension present and functioning. Original 380 end link are nice and tight to the case and have minimal rattle. NOS spring bars were installed during service.

Accessories: Original green watch box and Oyster booklet only.

Optional Accessories: I do have a 93150 bracelet available. It was refurbished by Michael Young. It fits beautifully and is nice and tight with 580 end links. It is suited for daily wear, so as to preserve the 9315 original bracelet. Available at additional cost. See pics of it installed on watch.

Watch keeps exceptionally accurate time ( + 1-2 sec/day) and is running at COSC specs.

This vintage Submariner is an excellent example of the famous reference# 5512. It is a one owner collectable piece worthy of a spot in the best of collections. I will include the original copy of the service receipt from its recent service (9/25/15) by VanessaCW21 at Jewelers on Time in Newport Beach, Ca.
