Journe : Soverain versus Bleu
I have an itch for a new watch and never considered Journe (was thinking of ALS) until I saw FPJ at a dealer and just loved the idea of small numbers, fantastic movements and quirky dials. I have slimmed my watches down quite a bit and trying to have a little bit of everything:
Annual Calendar - PP 5146 World Time - PP 5130 Water and weekends - Rolex 116655 Pilot / GMT - PP 5524 delivery in Feb I don't like chrono's and just sold my Daytona. So I was thinking along the lines of a simple dress watch love the idea of a manual wind and hence the selection of the above 2. I have worn the Souverain Chronometre and thought it was fantastic. The hands take a while to get used to but at th end of the day its simple and does what it says on the box. But I guess a calatrava does the same and teh comfort of a well know brand. The blea intrigues me as I love the dial. The entry point for me is about $ 3000 less than the Souverain so not much of a muchness. The absence of a power reserve worries me as I really dont want to over wind this watch. No idea how long a service will take...and with over 50 hours its not as though you can do it every day and it takes 38 winds...so that is a big detraction for me. Any thoughts form owners and their experiences and what made them choose? |
