Regarding PCLs And Scratches

There are a fair amount of posts regarding PCLs getting scratched, or just scratches in general. There seem to be a number of first-time Rolex owners who are concerned about their brand new watches getting scratched up, or worse yet, their lovely PCLs getting scratched.

This brought to mind my wife's Datejust. She wears it every day, all day, and does not baby it. If you look closely at it in certain harsh light it looks completely scratched to hell. However, in regular situations with normal natural light, it still looks like new. The PCLs look as great as they ever did.

So despair not the scratches, my nervous friends. Your watch will look awesome even after many years of wear and life. I dare say - it will look better!

And since decorum dictates that all threads require pics, please see below comparison photos of the aforementioned Datejust. The pic on the left was taken with the flash on, pic on the right was taken just seconds later with the flash off (what I consider to be "normal" lighting). The scratches all but disappear in normal lighting.

Good evening.
