30 years wait, but worth it!

I first had an opportunity to buy a Rolex from a watchmaker about 30 years ago having been inspired by the reference in the James Bond books. I didn't buy one then because I wasn't happy about buying such a flash watch, even though I could have bought it at cost price plus a few pounds.
Then about 15 years ago I told the story of my missed Rolex opportunity to a jeweller I knew. He odffered me a very good deal, again almost at cost price but I didn't have the money to take him up on the offer.
Then about four years ago I tried again but there was a shortage of Rolex watches in England with up to a two year wait for the SS Sub. So I bought an Omega SMP and was quiet happy until I saw a SS Sub in a window about three months later, and asked about buying it but they didn't want to do a p/x and I couldn't afford to buy it outright as I had just bought the Omega. Then about 4 weeks ago I saw an LV in my local AD. Lust took over and I did a p/x with the Omega and finally got the Rolex after a very long wait.
