Visit to Otto Frei (ofrei.com), Everest rubber strap on Daytona.. lots of photos!

Received my Everest strap today and decided to visit Otto Frei to buy a Bergeon 6825-PF plier. With over 32,000 unique items, it has been a giant toy store for watch nerds since 1930. Who knew they do walk-ins?

I was amazed at their efficiency in finding everything on my list in under 10 minutes. Genuine smiles all around, a highly recommended place to stop by when you're in the SF Bay!

Bergeon shelf:

The haul:
1) Horotec 1.60 mm (MSA 01.203-160) + blunt end blade (MSA 01.202-T160) for bracelet removal.
2) Omega 18 mm buckle for the Speedmaster Pro (cheaper than Ebay and guaranteed authentic).
3) Bergeon 7825 (BERG-7825). This is the OEM equivalent used by Rolex and RSC. The tip is 1.00 mm and is super easy to use.

I came in for the Bergeon 6825-PF Extra Fine, but tested it on my Daytona - it does not fit! The tip is 1.10 mm and will not insert into the endlink (which is 1.10 mm). I know the internet will tell you like it told me, that it works on Rolex, and maybe so on the Sub, GMT, Exp, but definitely not on the 116520! Buy the 7825 (1.00 mm) instead and you'll be much happier!

This is my first order from Everest - arrived well presented. Ordered on Monday and received Thursday with standard shipping, excellent!

Supple with minimal parting lines, a well made injected plastic strap. I was on the fence with RubberB as it's made from natural rubber caoutchouc (stiffer in a good way), whereas Everest is synthetic. The latter's ability to pick your length was the deciding factor for me. A note of advice - as the Everest band has a stretch due to its softness, you'll want to go a link down. I wear my Daytona on 5 x 6, but find 5 x 5 to be perfect. You can always use the Easylink.

Ready:

Installed with the 7825, not a single underside lug scratch!

A perfect fit!
