Gorilla and chimp trekking in Uganda
Thought you'd like to see some close-up wild chimp and mountain gorilla pictures from my recent trip to Uganda. I didn't wear a Rolex. I would have been safe enough, but even a basic Rolex would be massively ostentatious. I bought a $35 Casio with altitude, barometer, and thermometer. Even that was unusual and "a lot of money" someone there told me.
There is a Rolex in Uganda, though. 9,000 shillings, or about US $2.75 per. It's actually a food that's rolled eggs. Over time its spelling and pronunciation has morphed into Rolex. I was told "In Uganda, we eat our Rolex, we don't wear them." Anyway, some pretty cool pictures are here: http://imgur.com/a/svj1w Cheers, -Erik |
