I agree, Im not saying all this must "be true" just The part about SS daytonas to keep....I meant the ones that by for MSRP here keep them, where most sell to make a quick buck. And obviously the ones that buy at premium keep as well. I dont think Swiss Lux "has" to be getting from a AD is true. The way grey market dealers in Downtown get there watches are a couple of ways. Theres a rolex importer that imports offshore rolex from ADs out side of US and GM dealers will buy them and sell them. Im sure these importers get them from ADs somewhere. 2 day turnaround time is nothing...they can get the watch in 1 day is they wanted to from importers. The other way these GM dealers get watches are from eveyday people. I know many GM dealers here in Downtown LA that buy watches from regular people. I've seen people that just came from Ben Bridge, bring it to Downtown and sell a Daytona for 10.5k to GM. Then the GM resells them for 12k. The GM in Downtown is known for buying watches. Truefully, I sell watches I dont want to these GM guys all the time. ..yeah you might get less but its faster and easier. Plus there are plenty of people that dont know how to sell online or on Ebay. And some that just don't like the hastle of selling privately. Say you pick up a GV list plus tax and pay 7k out the door. Swiss or Allan say they buy them up for 8k. Still 1k profit for the buyer. And Im sure there are ADs selling Daytonas and GV's for premiums to GM dealers like Swiss and allan as well, and GM dealers buy them knowing they can sell them for more. I really dont think it makes sense for ADs to sell premium watches to grey for less. |
