18k GMT-c Anniversary Edition... need suggestions
My local AD called me about a Daytona asking if I'd want one. The answer was again, no. I told her my next watch was going to be 18k as I have SS with Milly, TT with Bluesy, and just need 18k for the trifecta. However, I told her this was going to be a purchase no sooner than a year from now the way it's looking.
She then informs me that she has a client with some serious mojo who's bought over 30 Rolexes from her alone, and he has his eye on a home somewhere far away from here and is selling off some of his collection to either purchase the home or put a down payment on it or something. Anyway, the watch has supposedly never even been worn and he just got it because it was somewhat rare. For a quick sale he'd do it for $16,500. I've looked on the net and I haven't seen any this cheap even pre-owned and claiming to be 95%. I'm caught here because I don't want to part with the money right now, but to me it sounds like a good deal. I'm tempted to lowball the guy just to see if he'll go lower, but I also don't want to offend a fellow WIS. Need some help here. BTW, this is an identical pic of the watch in question in case anyone's wondering exactly what i'm talking about here...
