How far would you go to get your watch mint again?

Hi,

I have bought a Tudor day date 94500 last weekend. The watch was not in good shape, but it was complete set.

I have opened a thread to ask opinions on a case repair.

Contacted few companies about the repair, and decided (at that moment) i would send the case to ABC Watchwerks.

Anyway, i have decided to take the watch to Rolex to get an estimate on the other services the watch needed, (a complete overhaul, including new crown, glass, and everything else to become new againg, except the dial) altough the watch was runing perfectly, the watch was not in good shape. And a Rolex overhaul would get the watch back as new, but still the case had an issue.

But Rolex offered me a new case, and a full overhaul for USD 1780.00, and i did approved the service.

The total cost will be 2470.00 USD. (purchase, rolex overhaul, newcase)

If the case was fixed, i guess i would be spending 1900.00 USD. (purchase, rolex overhaul, case fix)

So was that i wise thing? or have i spent to much on a watch that is not a Rolex?
