Which came first, "Pepsi" or "Coke"

Please help. Which color bezel was the original GMT.

It's often stated that the red/blue was the original and designed by PanAm. My understanding of the history of the GMT is slightly different. I have heard and believed the original GMT was a based on the Turn O Graph, and had a black/red bezel. Followed by early adoption by PanAm then they requested the blue/red bezel.

Thanks for any help, I'm just trying to figure out the real history. Google didn't help much.
