X series Daytona

Not sure if this line of questioning is allowed in this forum but...

I have seen a X series daytona, inverted '6'. The gaurentee papers date it as of 1994 and has polished center links on the strap. My research suggests that a X series should be dated around 1991 and not have polished links.

Is this mismatch on the date and strap common or is something iffy?

edit: I have combined both of your questions into the same thread to avoid confusion..
