1570 advice please
HI,
I hope you someone can help me, I have a datejust with a 1570 cal movement. I've done a full restoration on the watch and serviced the movement. Although it runs a lot better than it did it's still a bit inconsistent. Currently timing figures are: dial up is at anywhere between +13 to +26 amplitude is 209 (but starts at around 270 - 280 then drops after around 20 - 30 seconds) and a beat error of 0.3 dial down it generally sits around +29, 265 - 272 amplitude and 0.1 beat error Crown up varies between +7 to +25, amplitude is between 228 - 242 and the beat error is 0.3 Crown down varies between +9 to +12, amplitude is around 240 - 250 and the beat error is 0.5 Crown to the left is around +4, amplitude 223 - 227, beat error 0.3 Crown to the Right is +80 to +160, amplitude around 240 , beat error 0.0 - 0.1 then is flattened out to -1 to +0 then varies between +46 to +171 then sits between -10 to +15 I worn it last night for a few hours and it lost around 3- 4 seconds then left dial up over night it was at +6 seconds. I've cleaned it twice, replaced the main spring check jewel holes, checks the pivots, it has had a new balance staff but that seems to be okay. Anyone get any advice on getting this to run properly? Just to give a bit of background on myself, I have been teaching myself watch making for around 2 and a half year so still very new. I mostly do vintage wrist watches but have done a few clocks and pocket watches and I've just taught myself how to turn a balance staff for an early 1900 quarter repeater I have. Thanks, Chris |
