Does the caliber 23-300 has overwind protection?

The 23-300 is obviously a manual wind caliber and on my 2593 the crown is so small and also a bit recessed in the case that is is quite hard to wind. Hence I usually only wind it a few turns just to keep it running. A few times I have tried to wind it fully though but I always have to stop as my fingers get numb (it also takes quite a force to wind). I have wound it as much as it should be fully wound comparing to other calibers but the spring does not "tighten". Does the 23-300 have an overwind protection that makes the mainspring slip in the barrel like automatic movements have?
