it's not that theres a way your "supposed to wear" but more of a design element. Most people tend to be right handed. If my understanding is correct, watches were designed with the crown on the right side of the case for the bulk of the right handed people out there. Right handers would wear it on their left wrist so they could easily manipulate the crown with their dominant/right hand without having to take the watch off.

This is why tudor came out with the LHD Pelagos and other brands have come out with their LH watches with the crown on the left side of the case. This way lefties can wear on their right wrist and easily manipulate the crown with their dominant hand.
