Risks of buying pre-owned PAM?

Appreciate any advice here from experienced PAM owners...

I've always bought new but now considering buying a pre-owned PAM 24 (2003 model I think) from a local dealer. It seems in good condition on the surface but I'm thinking what may have happened to it in the last 5 or so years since bought new - has it been dropped, serviced with non-genuine parts, etc...

The asking price is US$4,900 vs. current new price of about $US6,300.

I guess what I'm after is some reassurance that in general it's ok to buy a used PAM and it's worth buying used to save the 22% or so off new price...?

Thanks, James
