BLNR Purchase Help

I'm thinking about buying a second Rolex to compliment my SD4K. A couple years ago I made the plunge with my first purchase, the SD. I really liked the BLNR, but had to go more traditional, never imagined I'd find myself thinking about another

Anyways, I stepped away from the forum and all things Rolex since that purchase. I visited an AD in Seattle recently and couldn't believe it when they had no subs or sport models in stock. I was told about the shortage and returned here to find much written about it. It seems my decision to pursue a BLNR possibly has come at a bad time.

I'm wanting some input on this model specifically regarding pricing and availability. Is paying MSRP to be expected right now? I'd appreciate any input on price history of this model.
Were they available less than msrp in the grey market ever or have they always been around msrp? I picked up my SD4K at a pretty significant savings at the time via a trusted seller, but I know that model had sold that way for some time.

Any chance of any savings via a discount or tax savings at an AD? Any idea what the wait lists are like these days?

Would appreciate any feedback. Not sure if I should keep pursuing, let things play out a bit, etc. Hard to gauge having just jumped back in. Thanks in advance
