Tons of hype, no doubt. But if you are looking for a modern, understated, slim, very-sporty-yet-dressy haute horology timepiece, your choices are incredibly limited.
The 5711, 5712, and AP 15202 stand alone imho. (Some would add certain Aquanauts as well). For a very fine yet more mass produced piece, you've got the Daytona. They are all similar in terms of size and wearability, and they are all timeless designs, even more so perhaps now that taste is veering back toward smaller diameters. I've looked long and hard for alternatives and haven't found any that check all the boxes of these four. So, there's hype but also very few options for a certain type of piece. |
