IWC Big Pilot Heritage Bronze IW501005 (1 of 1,500) out of stock at IWC

Up for sale is a natural patina (4 months since brand new) IWC Big Pilot Heritage Bronze IW501005
--- note: patina easily removed within minutes with any brass polishing liquid and soft cloth ---

This special limited edition (1 of only 1,500 made) combines the retro design of the historic Big Pilot's Watch 52 T.S.C. with a spectacular bronze case.

Comes with everything I received from AD: box, papers, manual and IWC Authorized Dealer Warranty Card. Plus, this handy little snap closure black travel box (see last picture), branded IWC with soft pad inside that it rest around. I purchased this watch from IWC Boutique Beverly Hills in May 28, 2018, for full retail $13,200.

THE BIG PILOT’S WATCH HERITAGE STORY

This timepiece is limited to 1500 pieces and is inspired by the original design of the iconic Big Pilot’s Watch Calibre 52 T.S.C. The bronze case takes on a slight patina and gets darker with time, giving the watch a charm all of its own. While pure copper is relatively soft, the high-tech bronze alloy used by IWC contains aluminium, which makes it harder and more rigid. Bronze, which is also used for the conical crown, is wear resistant and extremely durable. A soft-iron inner case protects the movement against the effects of magnetic fields. The IWC-manufactured 52110-calibre has a Pellaton automatic winding system with parts made from black or white ceramic. It builds up a power reserve of 7 days in two barrels. The leather strap is divided into two sections that are sewn together at the ends, preventing it from being dropped when the wearer is putting it on. The brown calfskin strap further underscores the heritage character of this timekeeper.

CALIBRE FAMILY 52000

The twin barrels are the trademark feature of the 52000-calibre family. They supply the watches with sufficient energy for a 7-day power reserve and drive energy-sapping complications like the annual calendar and perpetual calendar.
