Thanks for the insight

Hello folks, I have been lurking on this site for a month or so now to get insight and info on potentially buying a Rolex. I have purchased several Breitlings and have been very happy with the watches. (B50 and SOHII in current collection). I have also gone to a few AD's and tried on a few of the examples. i liked the watches although I need a bigger model because of my wrist size but they seemed to be nice enough. At this point though I am probably going to just stick with Breitling and maybe look at Omega or IWC for my next purchase. I do not care what anyone says, I cannot really find any real discernable quality difference between any of the three brands, I do not care about depreciation as I am buying for my own enjoyment, not as an investment. What has really turned me off though is the lack of an AD experience. Every AD I went to basically either laughed at me or told me to get in line. If I do ever get a Rolex it will be when the market dips and I can make the AD bleed a little on the price as I refuse to pay MSRP or over for anything. All of the bubble talk is hilarious, and sad at the same time. Lots of fanboys seem to look at a mass produced steel watch as some sort of investment that will climb forever and somehow equate the current value of their watch to the quality of the product. I would encourage you to look at the other premium brands out there as there are a few that offer a lot more for a lot less cost. Bottom line is that there is not an endless supply of buyers for 10K plus watches and watches in general are falling out of favor with the younger generation as they do not understand the value prop. I predict that for that reason alone I will someday own a Rolex for far less than MSRP. In the meantime I will watch the values and enjoy what I have.
