So this just happened…
So while I find the Submariner super comfortable, I think it’s too small… And I found the SD43 a bit top heavy due to the shape of the back of the case (it was pivoting)... and the black everything was a bit unexciting to me.
I sold the SD43 and I reached out to my dealer and they thought they can get me a D-Blue Sea Dweller Deep Sea in short order. Fast forward a couple of weeks and now I own a watch which two years ago I wouldn’t have even accepted as a gift… It’s amazing how your tastes change when you keep an open mind… I absolutely love this beast. The dial is amazing. It's a big watch but based on my experience with the SD43 you can and should cross shop the two. To me they wear very similarly but the DSSD feels and looks substantially heavier duty. FYI my wrist is seven and a quarter inch. One of the things that I was worried about was the writing on the ring. I am pleased to say that at least to me that writing gets lost in the background because my eyes are drawn to the dial. The other thing I was worried about is the date that is a bit misaligned to the left. But everything works well from a design standpoint. Here are three quick pictures. More to follow. |
