Will RSC Replace Damaged Links?
So long story short, I purchased a brand new two-tone submariner a few months back. I took it in for servicing (needed a new mainspring because mine was wound too tightly and behaving erratically) at the local RSC and in the process of servicing my watch, the RSC scratched two of the permanent gold links. One was a fairly deep scratch. The other a bit lighter.
They have offered to send it to Headquarters in NYC to take a look at it. They are willing to polish the bracelet and remove the scratches. I believe they should replace the links that they have damaged, free of charge. My question is: how likely do you guys think they will actually be willing to replace them? In a perfect world, I believe this is the right solution. But I’m not sure if Rolex would agree. I feel like they’re just pushing polishing as the solution. Have you guys heard of any cases where the RSC replaces parts that have been damaged while in their care? I would be really interested in knowing. Thanks! |
