Just spent a few days in Las Vegas.......
So the trip started out with our arrival at the Mirage with me wearing my DEEPSEA Seadweller and smoking an evening cigar. The next day my son, wife and I took a walk on the strip and right next door to the Mirage are the Forum Shoppes in Caesars Palace. Now I know many of you are going to have shivers up and down your spine but the first watch store you pass has been the subject of much criticism on this forum, yes Torneau. We go into look and the Rolex display cases are filled with datejusts and day dates many with a lot of shiny diamonds. On the other side of that display case is another Rolex case with a yacht master and the black two tone sub. The salesman Peter Avila was a knowledgeable young man who started in the store as a tech. He asked me if I wanted to try it on and I immediately acquiesced and was hooked! I always liked this watch and yes I am on the older side. My dear wife insisted that I buy the watch. She really doesn’t understand the disease but supports my habit.
Bottom line is Torneau is like any other store. You could end up with a terrible salesperson or you could end up with one that wants to assist you. I was dressed in shorts and a ball cap but Peter still showed me the watch and let me try it on. I also ended up with a lovely Rolex brand watch travel wallet and a book, A man and his watch. All in all a really great experience at Torneau. |
