Honeymoon incoming

Recently went on honeymoon to Italy (also celebrating our 1 year anniversary). I have always wanted to get a pair of Rolex with the wife so we decided to visit an AD on our first anniversary.

As per most ADs, no SS models were on display (save for DJs). The wife quickly had her eyes on a chocolate DJ 31. She asked to try on and as soon as she tried on she told me and the sale lady she wanted it. I explained to the sales lady that we want to get a pair of Rolex for our anniversary gift and wondered if she has any SS GMT or Sky D. She went to the back of her store and showed me an Explorer. I looked at it and declined politely as I own an Explorer 2. She then stepped up her game and took out a TT Sky D. I have always admired the Blue/White Sky D. The wife knew my admiration for Sky D so she went to browse to find a matchy one. She tried on TT DJ which she said she "quite like it as well". After being together with the wife for almost 9 years, I know that means "this looks ok to me and I can get this to match your gold watch because I love you". With my initial reason for going into the AD in mind, I politely turn the sales lady down again.

I then decided to give the DJs on display another look. Suddenly a RG TT chocolate DJ41 caught my eyes. I asked to try it on and it just hit me as soon as the clasp closed. I even thought it looked better than the Sky D (no offence!) as it has a clearer dial. Within 30 seconds I decided to get this beauty (although it took me awhile to decide to get the oyster or jubilee bracelet).

The AD also gave us a Rolex duffel bag as a gift (after asking what kind of gift we wanted and I have no idea what gifts there are so I said "surprise me"!) We chatted for a further half an hour while our bracelets got adjusted. We got on quite well that she even invited us to an after-party she was going that evening! We didn't have to nice clothes to put on so we turned her down. This has to be one of my top purchase experience!
