DSSD: “A” Serial Number vs Date on Warrenty card
Hi all! I searched for this topic but couldn’t find it; sorry if it’s been discussed.
Today I purchased a DSSD from a very well known online dealer (not sure if I can say his name/website here, but he’s one of the most trusted, and lives in FL). Anyway, I’m not questioning the authenticity of the watch due to his reputation and that it came as a full set. Also, I live 10 minutes from the RSS in NYC so I could also just walk take it there. Sorry for the background, here’s my question: The DSSD has an “A” serial number, which would date it to 1999. First, I believe that’s impossible for a DSSD as I believe it wasn’t even introduced until 2008. Second, the warrenty card (from an AD that is still an AD) is dated 2015. This might be such a stupid question as I know newer watches starting in 2011 have “random” serial numbers, but I assumed that meant that they wouldn’t confuse the bejesus out of us by starting them with a Letter. I’ll quickly delete this thread once someone tells me the obvious point I’m overlooking. Truly appreciate the help, all! Steve Quick edit: its a 116660, not a 126660. |
