I totally get what you're saying. I have both pieces, and while the YG sub is on another level in terms of looks and feel, if the watch apocalypse happened and I had to go down to one, I would probably keep the Daytona. Probably.

I think in the end it just comes down to how the watch fits into your lifestyle and whatever niche it fills. As you said, the Daytona is a much more versatile and discreet wearer.

A word about the OF straps, though. If you do trade, make sure you negotiate the correct size strap into the deal. If you think it's going to hurt your feelings to add cash to your sub, imagine how it's gonna feel if you have to buy a $350 strap on top of that.

I actually just picked up the 519. I love it, but I don't know that I'd make that trade. Then again, I wasn't in your situation.

Either way, they're both great!

I am attracted to the WG Dayton on OF because I could totally daily it and it will also be a PM while doubling as a sporty versatile piece.
For this collection I would definitely stick with the 116618LB. You already have a PM Daytona. If you have to add money to a trade for a watch of equal value you are already coming out financially behind without adding anything unique to your collection. The yellow gold sub also does great for a daily without being as loud as a YG daytona IMO since it is less busy. Stick with one PM sub and one PM daytona.

Fair points. But the 116618LB actually has a much higher MSRP value ($34k compared to ~$29K) than the 116519LN. It's just the aftermarket value that has that WG Daytona higher than the YG Sub. So to your point, I am actually even more behind by adding money....sucks, but the market is the market. If I could do a straight-up trade, I would do it in a heartbeat for sure.

Also, in my experience, the 116618LB gets more attention than the 116508LN. I am fine with that since I do not wear either PM watch at work. Outside of work, I am fine with some flash.
