All that matters is that they're desirable, to you. That's why you bought them.

Everyone else that disagrees can go jump in a lake

The Yachtmaster II is like Marmite, you either love it or hate it. Me personally I love it. Its my next Rolex purchase.

The DDll sells above retail and was a very short run. They are actually very desirable. I was looking to buy one while shopping the DD40. The DDll is a desirable and sought after piece. The YMll is a very big expensive SS watch. The most expensive at retail I believe. People hate it because of the regatta countdown. Not many of us have racing boats. So they assume the function is useless. On the flip side how many submariners are bought and never taken diving? I’d say the majority. I know some that are afraid to take a shower in their watches. They bought it because of the name Rolex and James Bond wore it... so you actually have 2 very interesting rolexes that you don’t see everyday. So as long as you like your watches who cares. The main hate for those watches is that they are too large and the proportions are wrong. Like the DD41>DJII and the trends are going towards smaller watches. Maybe 36-40mm. But we all don’t have 6 inch wrist so wear what you like. Congrats on a nice pair.

Always gonna be haters - - - for EVERYTHING in life.

And why should anyone care about their opinions anyway . . . liking what you like is all that really matters.

DD2 has quite a following as it wears a true 41mm, while the DD40 wears smaller than advertised, and the YM2 again has a following as it is quite unique, an un-Rolex watch, the WG version is the one that is really rare to see.

If you like them, then what is the issue? You have not one, but two Rolex's. Rejoice. If those are starting to lose their luster in "Your" eyes then you can sell, trade or add on to your collection. Enjoy what you have.

You could leave them on a bench in the Subway, and tomorrow they'll still be there. I'd consider that a plus.

What crowd? I think I've seen only one in my life - and I spend a lot of time looking at watches.

Never ever seen any of these:
- Milgauss (although I called it bottom of the barrel tongue-in-cheek, nothing against it)
- New airking (don't care for it, it's dead to me)
- BLNR on jubilee
- BLRO
- Daytona C of either type

The PM versions of 'sport' models are fairly easy to view at an AD, they're slow movers.

Plenty of subs and datejusts if you want to be part of a crowd.

Sorry I forget not everyone lives in expensive cities. Hot models all over where I live.

Not sure what "You could leave them on a bench in the Subway, and tomorrow they'll still be there. I'd consider that a plus."
Are you saying they are so undesirable, you could leave them in the street and no one would take them? sorry confused :)

lol dont care to please anyone, my question was clear, just wanted to see how other enthusiasts take on those two watches

Not at all Day Date II is a gorgeous watch. Some people like myself prefer a bit chunkier watch. plus I like the fact it has only been around for 5 years.

There are lot of people who were unhappy they discontinued the Day date II and those people aren't fans of the Day Date 40. The YMII is a fantastic tool watch. It's the Skippers watch, it's a regatta chronograph. If you don't need the function, then most people would pass on the watch. So neither are hated , but have a unique following.
