Believe it or not, you can revive old threads. It happens often, actually- you just comment on them.

Edited to add: white for me

Yeah, I gave the white Daytona a second chance (obtained in a trade), and I still didn’t like it! Beautiful watch, of course, just not for me. I often wear a 6263, so I guess my eye is always looking for a modern version closer to my Big Red.

As an owner of both, I must say black. The look is a matter of personal taste and I prefer black, and I also find the black to be more legible - greater contrast between the dial and the hour markers.

Can't go wrong with either tbh..

116500ln - white/black dial?

To me, the white ceramic just pops

Its personal preference. I’ve tried wearing both for some time and feel that the white pops more. Makes me smile just by looking at it

I think black is better in the flesh, but white photographs better.

I own a black dial and I’m still waiting for a white dial. This way, I don’t have to choose.

I like both for different reasons. I'd probably take the white of both were in front of me, but the black is super nice in person. I'd happily wear either one though

As for the OP's question, I'll write what I write every time this question gets asked .... I never get tired of these threads:

White is best in photos, black is best in person. The white dial is too snow/toothpaste white. Reminds me of a TAG. Rolex should have put a hint of silver in there like the old 6263/5s. Black is simply more classic and iconic, IMHO, and I've owned both .... twice, but now only have the 116519.
That is a beautiful Daytona right there!

If I had to choose, I’d go Black dial. But the White would not be disappointing!

Going to have to pick white. If it were my only Rolex or going to be my only black dial, I'd go black.

But I have a few other black dial watches, so I'm going to choose white.

Definately black.
I think the white looks childish, poor mans 116509 wg with the silver panda dial.

Black is much more elegant.

White is definitely more noticeable but the black is sexy and stealthy.

This was discussed so many times. Here's my comment. I have both, but prefer white. White is more legible and more contrast.
