Picked up a Seiko Prospex Sky

Picked up an interesting watch that I will be gifting to a family member for Christmas, the SRPB57K1.

This watch is definitely impressive considering the $200 price point. There are fashion watches and department store watches that are priced well above this price range yet do not come anywhere near the quality of this Seiko!

- well defined brushed and polished finish on the case
- very clean matte black dial with Arabic hour markers
- impressive illumination
- butter smooth “clickless” bi directional bezel
- 10 bar water resistance
- display caseback
- well constructed 5 link bracelet with alternating high polish and brushed finish

Only think I found odd was the lack of a screw down crown but I am assuming it is designed that way to use the watch as a chronograph by hacking the movement and adjusting the bezel accordingly.

Even tempted to just keep it to grow my own Seiko collection

Here are some pictures;

That is a lot of watch for the price.

Does it come with a textbook to use the slide rule?

Cool bezel

Sort of a Seiko Speedy.

Sadly just a generic manual

It needs to come with a loupe and seizure medication if you’re going to try and read those tiny numbers.
