Grand Seiko durability?

Personally, I wear my GSs everywhere I wear my Rolexs. I don't baby my watches, but I exercise wrist awareness. For you guys who are a little more "rough and tumble" than myself, do you have any reason to believe Grand Seikos are any less durable than Rolex? Or do we not put them in the same situations because we assume they're less durable?

They are perfectly durable, however some of the case finishing is much finer than a Rolex case (eg Zaratsu polish), hence wouldn’t look so great with scratches / dings.

On the contrary, I find GS more resistant to micro swirls.
For dings I noticed no difference.

I use my GS exactly as I have used a Rolex in the past.
Spring Drive should also be more durable as there is no contact whatsoever to brake the speed of the gear train.

My daily GS is a 44GS case watch. Still shines like a diamant, even with dings.
I have a few but they are unnoticeable if you don't look for them.

I don’t treat them any differently and haven’t noticed any difference.

My Milgauss picked up scratches and swirls much more easily than my modern GS. Also my vintage GS tend to look a lot better (and run better) than my vintgae Rolex, though that may be because Japanese seem, from what I have seen and heard, to take great care of their watches.
