Great. Just watched your intro video...very interesting and good to have another expert watchmaker in the vintage Seiko world. I assume you're ok with all GS and KS movements? How about fixing broken quicksets on the 56KS?

How far back can you get parts for repair? I've had a few vintage Seiko models in mind but am unsure how easy or difficult they are to service if any movement parts are worn beyond reuse.

Yep, happy with all models. The quickset issue has to do with a broken rocking bar. I have a few NOS in stock and am looking into alternatives for when I run out.

6217-8001 would be at the top of my list. I'd be curious about movement parts and if a replacement or NOS crystal would be available to make it water resistant again.

I watched your overhaul video and enjoyed seeing your thought process play out. Repairing the barrel shake and installing new jewels for the barrel arbor both top and bottom were a welcome sight. Great work.

Oh yeah, parts for a 6217 are available. That’s no issue. I have a stock of vintage parts and also replacement crystals for a variety of models.

I also offer the crown rebuild service (remove old gasket and fit replacement gasket without any damage) for that model and the 6105.

Assuming the case is in good condition I have all gaskets available to make most things waterproof again.

Good luck, fellow Aussie. Cling to that accent. The PITA factor has me steering clear of vintage these days though, especially with prices and experiences with Sydney watchmakers. I have only one vintage KS quartz, that mercifully I got out of relatively cheaply on its first service in quite some time.

I just subscribed. I’m looking forward to future videos. It would be great to see if you have any information, or maybe an upcoming video, on how to change out the bezel on the GS divers to ceramic or sapphire. The OEM bezels scratch easily, as you probably know. Cheers.

Esoteric question, but you say you have a lot of parts. Do you happen to have the central jewel and doodad for a 4420-9990 hacking mechanism?
