Discount?

Hey I am just curious if everyone is getting discounts when purchasing DayDates from their AD's?

Seems like they trade way under retail (more than any other PM model) wondering if a discount was the reason

Thanks

What is a typical percentage off? I've tried to get a discount in person and have always got a hard no. They only mention how to avoid tax by shipping it out of state.

20% used to be the goal, now i doubt you'll get much. for a day date just go grey unless you're bundling at an AD

Don't purchase daydates from the AD. (unless you hate money).

I don't think you will find DD's trading "way" under retail, not anymore. Discounts are becoming harder and harder to come by. Regardless of PM vs SS models. Unless of course you are looking at low demand watches. There was time you could get 20% on any PM watch but today it largely depends on the market your AD is in. Small town (which are evaporating) AD's are more likely to move off MSRP. Major market AD's not so likely, just be grateful they sell you a watch, any watch.

There are a handful of excellent trusted sellers her on TRF, go with one of them.

DD discounts still very possible. Try lower volume dealers first.

I’d say 10% is probably what you will get IF they have it on hand

Small discounts if you can find them. Maybe 5-10% if you're lucky. If you're in a big city, it's difficult these days.

Depends on model. 36mm is easier to get discounted than 40mm. As others have said, market matters. And if it’s in the case and you’re willing to pull the trigger today, that gives you a bit more leverage.

More and more they charge full price and give you an SS of choice in addition. So basically the discount you would’ve gotten becomes now the premium you pay for the SS.

If you really only want the DD you should insist and drive a hard bargain. Otherwise go to another AD.

If an AD can talk you into a bungle (sorry a bundle) why would they discount the big DD fish?

You are already hooked.
