- why did you settle on Dallas RSC vs. others around the country? - how much was the overhaul? And what was wrong with the watch? |

Just got my Submariner 14060M back from Phillip Ridley at Ridley Watchmakers. Took about 10 days, his communication was excellent, very happy with his service.

My understanding is that the RSC’s job is to bring the watch to factory specs and condition. If you don’t want to polish or just want to service the movement, you should take it to an independent. Can anyone confirm this?

Polish is a cost option you can refuse at RSC. Been my experience.

Full service was $750. They also replaced the bezel insert which was $40. I explained the issue Leading me to get service in Post #1. |

Initial recommendation was for a Full Service and replacement of the bezel insert which was scratched. I believe that polish is part of the Full Service and not offered separately if doing a Full Service.

For what it’s worth, I can confirm from my standpoint that the watch looks new. So perhaps that is in fact their focus to bring to factory specs and condition. If so, mission accomplished!

I dont like watch winders. I'll say they are as bad as leaving your watch on a drawer for years. I either wear my watches in rotation or give then a winding once a month for those not in regular rotation...

I am glad to hear about your positive experience. I am contemplating sending my GMT to Dallas for service. Thanks for sharing.

At the risk of redundancy send to RSC Dallas. I have used them for over thirty years to service all my Rolexes.

My pleasure. Their customer service personnel were top notch. As an example, they would follow up with a phone call about an hour after they sent an email to make sure you got the email and if there were any questions. Not many businesses due that today. Outstanding!

Firmly convinced that servicing via the official service centre is the way to go. Others may disagree.
