Is that with or without cash? I don't know the US/Canadian exchange rate but it seems that's only about 10% off.

I have a price list before the price increase and the 179173 was 9,250$ CAD with diamond markers and an oyster bracelet.

I'm not sure about how pricing works, but I just thought that you'd like to have that info. :)

You certainly have more bargaining power with cash. If there are other dealers in the area, you can always comparison shop and see what the other dealers offer.

Like Time Keeper said, you may want to shop around a bit, if you're using cash. Often times you can get some better deals.

If you have no issues with gray dealers, that particular watch is listed for about $7300 at Alanfurman.com and swissluxury.com...
If you prefer the AD route, take these prices in with you. The 7300 is BNIB. See if they won't work with you at those prices.

Unfortunately that is still $9000 CAD, and with import duties (we're going to assume OP won't break the law) you're at more than the offer. Anyways, you should be looking for at least a 20% discount. There was a 10% price increase in Canada on April 1st, logically speaking the AD probably had it in stock before the prices went up. That said, the economy in Canada is not so bad, so it is still difficult to push for BIG discounts like you can in the USA. But it does not hurt to try, ESPECIALLY with a cash payment. Good luck with whatever route you choose, I'm sure she'll love it!

I would offer to pay $9000 including taxes!

I absolutely agree. I was just posting what a possible close to negotiating price would be. I'm not sure if there are any gray dealers in Canada (I would suspect there would be), but given the conversion, 9k CAD (7300 USD) would be about where the price should be around... Sorry for any confusion.

Remember TT DJ's depreciate VERY quickly (I learned after I bought his and her TT DJ's). I thik you should be able to get at least 20% off list, maybe even better. what size DJ are you looking at?

I would think you could do better on a cash deal. Check with TempoKing for a quote.

I agree with previous posts, with cash I would think you could get a better price. Shop around and pit one AD against another to get a better deal. To me less than a 10% discount would not be an incentive to buy!!!

The last Date just I bought I got 30% off. Also the diamond bezels are much cheaper if they dont come directly from rolex.

Shop around and dont be afraid to try some reputable grey dealers
