Handy was my first BTAC back in 2013 before they were Rolex cool. I have had a few other BTACs since and finished them all but the ‘13 handy has always been my favorite and I slow drink it. Just explodes with citrus. Very cool flavor.

I haven’t had a BTAC bottle offered to me in several years. But that all changed today. My “SA” called me with the good news. Going to get it in the morning. Any guesses????

Question—for those who get hard to find bottles:

Are you at the right place at right time; or have connections; or pay the going rate for these bottles.
Combo of all 3?
Really just curious

I’ve been at the right place/time to get a couple bottles of Blantons and paid more than I should’ve for a couple bottles of others, only bc I wanted to experience them.

^^^^^I recently bought Macallan editions 5&6 directly at rrp but when I tried to buy more they were sold out and I ended up paying a significantly higher secondary market price.

Just like Rolex- choose the store wisely, establish relationship with the manager, buy usual stuff periodically and hope you get lucky.

I managed to get more than half of the allocated stuff including atleast a bottle of BTAC or Pappy every year at MSRP but this yr, I was offered a lot B VW for $250 and I passed. I can afford the 250 but for me, it is the joy in the quest to get these at MSRP.

Hopefully this is not the beginning of a new trend.

Good luck on your quest.

The main 4 in order.

1. #4 - excellent
2. Regular - excellent
3. Carmella - decent
4. Fog - meh

Solid line up this year.

Aging the Birthday and Weller 12 Variants for a couple years.

Still not as good as the 2018 Line Up IMO.

Thanks for explaining the time lag in posting - makes sense.

BCBS said it is aged in a mix of bourbon barrels from whiskey distilleries like Buffalo Trace, Heaven Hill Distillery and Wild Turkey. I don’t know if it’s relevant, but that could mean a variation during the aging process and final result. Some batches are then bottled after multiple barrels are emptied.

Wonder if they’ve pondered the likelihood of single barrel bottling at a premium price?

I believe at the scale BC does business (a Budweiser company) they do mostly mixed batches but they did release a weller 12 only bottle as well as a birthday bourbon only bottle this year.

Many smaller outfits do single barrel programs and in fact my local beer group has two separate barrels aging 18 months at Aslin in northern Virginia as we speak.

There are "sorta" single barrel variants of BCBS for 2020.

They are extremely limited.
