1680 back in action
My first Rolex is a 1680 I bought at age 15 and I wore daily for until 2006. I got it serviced and retired her but after seeing leather bands on a 1680 I decided to pull her out of retirement and man she looks good on leather!

Gorgeous 1680! She should not be in retirement.

Nice dude!
What is the story on that dial? I don’t know that I’ve seen a “swiss” only with no WG surrounds |

1680 back in action

@OP Better photos would be nice and could clarify, also take pics under UV light. During service the hands may have been changed also. Here is an excellent review (by stevedssd) with many different 1680 white original and service dial photos: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?p=7259391 |

At 15 I was making a couple quid an hour in retail while eyeing a 500 pound silver Gucci watch (never was able to get it). Jealous!
Lovely piece!

Very nice vintage 1680, it would be much helpful if we could be able to know a little more about the “story or history” behind this watch, especially for all the newbies of this forum so we could learn how to appreciate this model

It’s a service luminova dial. I’ve seen one on a 1680. Looks superb, vintage look but fully functioning lume. Great piece and history. Definitely not one to retire.
