Is this DJ worth anything?

One of many DJ's for sale in Japan, with intentionally overexposed photos...well, at least there is a 30 day inspection period.

Are the springbars poking out up top?

Good DJs are getting harder to find and top DJs will continue to increase. The example you show has fairly thin luge as you can see on the upper right lug the spring bar is protruding, not good.

Also, don't buy any stainless vintage without checking for corrosion, if corroded just avoid the watch, keep looking.

Bad

Good :)

If a dealer doesn’t provide decent pictures there is something to hide and time to walk away

I agree with joli160. No one should ever sell a watch unless they can take a decent photo. At least, that's what I tell myself (anyone on this Forum who has seen my photos knows that I have NOT mastered this fundamental skill).

Hard to tell from this photo. The hands/lume look bright white with this exposure. May or may not have been relumed/redialed.

Can't tell anything from the over-exposed photography. Hands and lume plots look bright white, so may or may not have been replaced.

As above, buy from someone who at least has the expertise to take a decent photo of a watch. Bad photography is always a red flag for me.

Not interested in old watches as they are a minefield for problems.

Well, that just about rules out any vintage watch. Avoiding the minefields is part of the fun!

Terrible photo, but if the price is cheap it could be worth taking a risk. There's nothing obviously wrong with it. However, knowing the Japanese market, I doubt it's cheap.

It's $3700 so I think it could be good if the movement is pristine.
I'd have to open it up myself since "we do not have the tools".
