i wouldnt buy a sub that didnt have the maxi dial...i just think its a significant improvement.

No, not so keen on the new style dial. I don't know if it's the gold surrounds, or the bigger hands on the new one that put me off, but the old true maxi dial without the gold surround is perfect.

i love them both... 40mm dial and up is the most important thing.... the 36mm unisex dial is just too small to read

I think the fat minute hand annoys me more than the big markers. Either way, if I had to choose one or the other, I would probably choose the smaller style dial markers and thinner hands.
