Air King c.1971
Hi
New to the forum - I've recently inherited a Rolex Air King. Whilst I think it's a 5500 I can't find anything online to determine it's true age. I can't check it's serial number as it has been engraved with a messag on the back on the back so assuming a blank case back was put on for this ?!? I'm planning on having this fully restored as it's missing a crown, needs a really good clean and new glass Any thoughts on model based on the image? Thanks in advance |

Take the bracelet off, check between both sets of lugs.
One is ref no, other is case serial number. That’s how you date it. |

A lot of folks here are not going to want to open a .zip file.

As mentioned, you need to remove the bracelet at the 6 o'clock to see the serial. That will disclose the year of production, approximately..
