It doesn't look much different, just a bit more clean.

I cannot wait to get it back and start carrying it from time to time.
When not carrying, it will be on display in my home.

Looks very nice.. clean.
I don't use my grandfathers pocket watch since having it repaired, but keep it displayed in an oak setting and wind it up often..

I think you will appreciate taking the the time to get this watch fixed.

My Grandfathers watch is a 1934 Omega by serial number, which I guess was quite common for WWII soldiers to buy a used watch after boot camp and take it with them to Europe. I learned a great deal about WWII watches of the period just trying to do research on the piece. That was half the fun!
@Swaye- That's a real beauty! Really love the color and the Arabic numerals

@Rolexjim- WOW! Looks like a pretty big difference to me. I can only imagine how excited you must be.

Love that! Get yourself a custom pocket watch holder on ETSY and use it as your desk clock and you can interact with it everyday.

Thanks for the replies.
I have a hangar for it that I purchased at Hobby Lobby.
Just something temporary until I decide on something fancier.
I also intend to get a chain and carry it on occasion.

Well, it arrived today! Now I must purchase a suitable chain for display and carrying.
I have linked a video of dubious quality to show the beast is alive after all this time!
Thanks for showing interest in my thread.

If that's a beast, it sure is a grand ole beautiful beast. It's great that not only has it been brought back to life, but it will now be proudly displayed and even better, proudly worn again. Big cheers and congratulations sir!

I believe I am going to find a vintage chain instead of something new. It would seem appropriate to do so.
I'm taking it to work today for the first time to show co-workers who have been on this journey with me. They are almost as excited as myself...

What a great thread! Thanks for sharing w us. What a monster of a movement in that piece! So sweet.

I have my grandfathers Caravelle that he wore every day for years when he was older. Quartz movement and not very expensive BUT priceless to me.

Thank you. I have still to decide on a permanent display but I like what I have it on for the time being.
It really is a great looking and running watch.

Follow up!!!

The watch began running extremely fast so I contacted Rusty.
He had me ship it back to him and determined it had been magnetized.
He demagnetized it for me and returned it back, no charge for labor.
I'm still not certain what magnetized it but I suppose it could have been anything.
I have it back now and in it's display. It seems to keep pretty good time. I do not have a counter but to my naked eye about 1/2 minute in 18 hours.

She still looks great!

After closely reviewing disassembled pictures I noticed the "AS" logo on the main plate.
A little sluething lead me to this:

https://www.timewornwatches.co.uk/ma...adolph-schild/

Now I have at least a bit of information about the watch movement.
