Anyone dial swap lately?

Got a brand new DJ41 at a great deal, but not my first choice in dial. Currently silver, wanting the blue stick. Called RSC and they said they can switch the dial no problem, takes about 8 weeks. Called some ADs and they give me the 5 or 10 year rule until i can swap, so ill obviously just head to the service center. Just curious if anyone has swapped from an AD or RSC lately and their experience???!! Cheers

I went through RSC Dallas. The dial is an exchange part and the whole thing cost ~$500.

Whoever at the AD told you about the 5-10 year wait has no idea of what they are talking about. If a dial for a specific model is available, RSC would swap the dial even if you bought the watch the same day.

Case in point.. Summer of this year, an acquaintance of mine in Dallas bought a brand new WG Day Date with Black dial for around 37K from one of the trusted sellers. He received the watch on a Friday and went to RSC on Monday (of course with an appointment) and asked to swap the black dial for the meteorite dial with baguettes. The dial itself cost him $9500. The total cost came out to around $10K and he could not be more happy. The same watch with taxes would have cost him upwards of $52K.

I believe Bas said he did this on a new or relatively new DD, just needed to have the dial in stock. I would guess those dials are quite rare though.

I've done dial swaps recently on a DJ41 and a Daytona TT, local watchmaker did the swap without fault on both occasions for £100/time while I waited.
Buy genuine dials from a trusted seller on eBay or chrono24, find a reputable local watchmaker and job done!

I just sent my WG BLRO to the RSC 2 days ago with a request to swap the black dial for a blue one.

I don’t think it’s going to happen, but you never know.

I think this is fairly commonly requested and honored. My SA at my AD told me that they did this for a customer, but I’m not sure how long it was after the blue dial came out.
