Omegas are great if you like the ugly Seamaster and all the "limited" editions. However, my 1863 Moonwatch is a keeper.

It’s really not that big an issue. If it happens, you hand it to your AD and 4-6 weeks later, you get it back working like a charm. Not a biggie for a landmark watch from the brand. I thought I’d be upset if it happened to me, but the process was easy and solved the issue with no questions asked. I also got a Tudor pouch and cleaning cloth when they returned the watch, which was nice.

A good warranty is doesn't make a bad product better. I'd rather have a good product and no warranty.

Tudor's GMT has really let them down.

If I could only have 2 watches, and only had a budget of around $3700 USD per watch, this could possibly be what I would choose. A black and blue BB58.

I have a black dial Sub and a blue dial Seamaster. I wear both equally as much. The blue dial is nice simply because I always seem to wear a lot of blue at work. Blue shirt, beige khakis, blue sport coat, brown shoes, brown belt, etc…

I've owned and parted with both. The GMT wasn't quite as big/thick/bulky as the internet chatter made it seem, and I thought it wore quite well and comfortably on even my 6.5 inch wrist. Maybe it was the extra size and the sheen of the bi-color bezel, but it felt a tad more "premium" than the BB58. I had a later serial that was supposed to be free of the date wheel problem and I had no issues in the short time I owned it. But I couldn't help but feel like I had a ticking time bomb so that's the primary reason I sold it. That and without an actual use for the GMT function, the novelty wore off fairly quickly.

The BB58 is smaller, lighter, thinner. Wears quite differently, less presence but more of a sleek daily wearer. Thought it was the closest thing to my old 5 digit Sub that I have found yet. Even the bracelet had that slightly chintzy quality of the older models. I liked it more than the GMT, I only sold it because I have a strict rule of how many watches I keep at a time.

So, while far from ideal, especially the non communication from Tudor, it’s still something that shouldn’t prevent you from enjoying this amazing watch. Mine is now date change issue free for the last two years of continued running and I enjoy the watch thoroughly together with the rest of my collection.

I like the GMT, personally. As far as the date issue, the only people that could answer that question are not on this forum...nor will they be talking anytime soon.

And, if I was going to get a blue watch, it would be the Pelagos.

I’ve had the GMT a little over a year now. Wearing it now as a matter of fact! But I also have a BB58 Blue coming in tomorrow. ��

I've had both - the only Tudors I let go.

The GMT was too thick. Since then, I got the S&G Chrono which is even thicker. So, I must eat crow on that decision. But, no regrets.

Also let go the BB58 in Blue - sold it to a friend at a $200 loss. He kept it a year and sold swapped it with another buddy of ours for the GMT.

IMO, I highly recommend the GMT and the BB OG. Can you swing both?

Thanks all, I think that the movement issues with the GMT don’t fit with my personal risk profile. Will likely go for either the black bay 58 blue or the omega seamaster!

Both good choices. The Seamaster wart @ 10 o’clock is what’s put me off.
